About

Family

I have been married since 2005 to my wife April Johnson. She is a seasoned minister with over 27 years of experience in Children’s Ministry. She carries a divine calling to minister to children and to equip others to do the same. As a trusted consultant, she works with churches to help them build and strengthen their children’s ministry programs. Together we have two teenage daughters.

Education

From a young age, I have always had a strong creative inclination, often disassembling electronic devices and challenging myself to put them back together. My early creativity even extended to crafting transformers from cardboard, and with my father’s guidance, I constructed a robot for a high school science fair project.

I graduated as salutatorian from A.R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet High School, which set the stage for my academic pursuits at Morehouse College and the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). At Morehouse, I earned a degree in General Science, and at Georgia Tech, I completed a dual degree in Electrical Engineering.

My educational journey continued with a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, both from Georgia Tech. During my doctoral studies, I developed a pioneering human recognition software application capable of identifying individuals in surveillance videos. After earning my Ph.D., I contributed to research at Georgia Tech as a postdoctoral fellow, focusing on automatic methods for human activity recognition in video-monitored environments.

In addition to my technical expertise, I am a graduate of Faith Christian Center’s Faith School of Ministry and was licensed through Word of Faith International Christian Center.
