Husbands are anointed to be distracted with making money

Summary

As husbands, there is a tension between fulfilling God’s calling and taking care of our families. The Bible, specifically in Corinthians, highlights that a husband’s attention is divided between the needs of his wife and fulfilling God’s calling. I admit that early in my marriage, I focused too much on my calling, neglecting my family’s financial needs, believing that following God’s call would naturally provide for us. However, I realized this mindset was flawed. I should prioritize my family’s financial well-being while pursuing my calling. If my calling doesn’t support my family financially, I need to find additional means to do so, much like the Apostle Paul did by making tents when his ministry didn’t generate enough income. This dual focus is a divine anointing for husbands, so it’s possible to manage both responsibilities. The Bible teaches that our calling should eventually provide for us, but until it does we often need to take on additional work. This doesn’t diminish our calling; it’s simply a Holy Spirit led-approach to fulfill both our divine and familial obligations. It’s not a choice between one or the other but a balance of both, as scripture mandates.
